Handmade Azrou Moroccan Dinnerware: Mix & Match Colours
Our Azrou dinnerware is made from Moroccan terracotta — shaped by hand, kiln-fired, then finished with a glossy glaze. Each plate has a 2cm raised rim that keeps pasta, salad and anything saucy where it should be. We make it in several colourways: the jade of Azrou Dinnerware – Jade, the vivid blue of Azrou Dinnerware – Cobalt Sun, the near-black of Azrou Dinnerware – Midnight, plus terracotta and softer neutrals. Here's how to live with all of it.

Buying colours, and mixing them
You don't have to settle on one shade. The colours were designed to sit together, so a mixed table works as well as a matched one — often better.
A few combinations that hold up:
- One colour per person. Give each place setting its own shade. It looks deliberate and makes the table easier to lay.
- A rotating odd plate. Keep the set uniform and add a single Cobalt Sun or Midnight plate as the outlier. Move it around from meal to meal.
- Warm base, cool accent. Terracotta and neutral plates underneath, jade or cobalt bowls on top. The contrast does the work.
Choose by season and by what you're serving rather than by matching a scheme. Midnight suits winter and heavier food; jade and cobalt lift a summer table. Browse the full handmade tableware range and start with whichever plate you'd reach for most.

Why no two pieces match
Everything here is handmade, so expect variation. Plates differ slightly in diameter. The glaze pools a little thicker in some spots than others. A rim may sit a touch off-level. These aren't faults. They're the result of a person shaping terracotta on a particular day, and every piece carries some version of that.
This is worth knowing before you buy a set. A stack of our plates won't be mechanically identical the way factory dinnerware is, so if you're expecting six copies of one object, we'd rather say so up front. What you get instead is a set where each piece is its own. We think that's the better trade.
It's also why we source the way we do. Prudence founded Nestology after years in interior design and running Zoco Home's largest Marbella store, and she built the collection around makers rather than production lines — without the markups that usually come attached. Every piece is food-safe and hard-wearing enough for daily use. Hand wash it and the glaze holds up.
Copper mirrors and woven baskets
The same makers produce our wall pieces. The Alegra Mirror Set is three small mirrors hammered from solid copper in Morocco — 10x4cm, 16x12cm and 20x14cm. The hammered surface scatters light rather than throwing a flat reflection, which helps on a bright whitewashed wall. Hang all three as a group above a shelf or in a hallway; together they read as one gesture rather than three small objects.

The Azahar Wall Set is three handwoven baskets in natural and off-white tones, roughly 25–40cm across. Hang them in odd numbers, mix the sizes and let the weave add texture to a hard, bright wall. Like the dinnerware, no two are alike. See the rest of the wall pieces we stock alongside them.
Build the whole thing slowly. Start with a single Azrou colour you like, add a mirror set or the baskets later, and let the table find the rest. Everything shares the same handmade trace, so the pieces sit together even when you buy them months apart.
If you're ever along the coast, our little shop in Fuengirola has the Azrou dinnerware, the copper mirror sets and the woven wall pieces out where you can pick them up and see how the glaze pools and the hammer marks catch the light — no two quite the same. There's no rush and no pressure; come and see what feels right for your nest, or just have a look at our mirrors collection in person.
