Furniture Delivery Service Torrox: White-Glove, Done Right

A piece of furniture isn't really delivered when the van pulls up. It's delivered when it's standing level in the right room, the packaging is gone, and you can actually use it. That last part is where most couriers stop. We don't — across Torrox and Torrox Costa we handle it ourselves. Here's how it works, awkward bits included.

What delivery to Torrox actually involves

Geography sets the plan. Torrox pueblo means narrow inland streets, tight turns, and very little parking, so we work out van size and the carry-in route before we set off. Torrox Costa is flatter and easier to reach, but the apartment blocks raise their own questions: lifts, landings, stair widths. We've done both many times over. Tell us your address and floor when you order, and we'll have the access sorted before the day arrives.

Lead times depend on the piece. In-stock European designs usually reach you within one to two weeks. Made-to-order work takes longer — a hand-knotted Moroccan rug or a piece of solid-wood furniture built to order can run four to eight weeks, sometimes more. Smaller in-stock items move quickly: Turkish ceramics and kitchenware, cushions, anything you can carry in one hand. We give you a realistic date up front, not an optimistic one, and we tell you straight away if a maker's timeline shifts.

In your home, not on your doorstep

What we call white-glove delivery is simple. We carry the piece in, assemble it, level it, set it where you want it, and take every scrap of packaging away with us. A wardrobe arrives built and standing, not flat-packed by the door. A dining table is positioned, not left in its box. No tools, no second person, no lost afternoon.

Access is the thing that catches people out. Axarquía homes are full of split levels, rooftop terraces, exterior staircases, and doorways never designed with a two-metre sideboard in mind. Our outdoor and terrace pieces often head for the most difficult spots of all. That's why we ask for the details early — stair turns, doorway widths, whether there's a lift, where the nearest parking is. The more we know before the van leaves, the smoother the day runs.

We coordinate in your language too. Torrox has a large German community alongside its Spanish and English residents, so scheduling, questions, and aftercare can all be handled in German, English, or Spanish. Nothing gets lost in translation — including the moment you change your mind about which wall the piece should sit against.

If it isn't right, and planning the day

Occasionally things go wrong. A piece can be damaged in transit, or it can arrive and simply not suit the room. We'd rather fix that than leave you living with something that doesn't fit. Damage is repaired or replaced; a change of heart within the return window is handled without fuss. This is part of why Prudence started Nestology. Years of running interiors projects and a large showroom in Marbella had shown her too many customers treated as a sale to close rather than people making a home.

A short checklist for delivery day:

  • Clear the route — hallway, stairs, and the spot where the piece will stand.
  • Measure doorways and the lift if there's any doubt, and send us the numbers.
  • Decide placement beforehand so we set the piece down once, in the right place.
  • Flag anything unusual — a steep terrace stair, a narrow gate, restricted parking hours.

We'll confirm the date, the access plan, and a rough arrival window before we come, then call when we're close.

That's the whole point of doing it this way. The hard part is ours to manage — the thousand kilometres from a workshop in Fez or Anatolia, the stairs, the assembly. Send us the awkward details of your Torrox home early, and you can picture the piece already in place. Tell us what you're planning and we'll take it from there.

If you're ever along the coast in Fuengirola, our shop door is open — come and run your hand over the furniture in person before it ever heads your way, and you'll get a feel for the joinery and the wood that no photo quite carries. There's no need to plan a trip around it; but if you happen to be nearby, make yourself at home and stay as long as you like. Show this screen with the code NESTO-A406 at the counter and we'll take 10% off anything you carry home with you that day — a small thank-you for stopping in. We'd love to put a face to the nest.
